HOW THE MATERIAL IS DEVELOPED

1. Source-control review

The approved QCTO curriculum is treated as the controlling source and is read together with the approved Skills Programme document.

2. Curriculum mapping

KMs, PMs, WMs where applicable, topical elements, IACs, practical activities, ELOs, Associated Assessment Criteria and final assessment requirements are mapped before development.

3. Integrated development

Facilitation opportunities, formative assessment, controlled summative assessment, practical evidence and final integrated assessment are developed as one traceable system rather than in isolation.

4. Assessment traceability

Assessment tasks are checked back to the curriculum requirements and the evidence required to demonstrate competence.

5. Final alignment review

The completed programme is reviewed through the Assessment Alignment Matrix so gaps, unsupported alignment and source discrepancies remain visible for quality assurance.
